Honor Societies
High-achieving biology majors may participate in the activities of these two scientific honor societies.
- Beta Beta Beta, also known as TriBeta, is a national honor society that recognizes scholarship and encourages understanding of biology and involvement in community. Washington College members volunteer as judges at the local middle school science fairs and participate in Stream Waders, a water monitoring program operated by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
- Sigma Xi is an International research honor society that encourages students to conduct significant research and to share their findings with the larger scientific community.
